Cosumar: record results for the 2015-2016 campaign

Cosumar announced record results for the 2015-2016 campaign. According to the specialised Group in the extraction, refining and packaging of sugar in different forms “At the end of the marketing year 2015-2016, white sugar production registered a record level of 607,000 tonnes up by 19% compared to the previous season. National sugar needs coverage rate has risen to close to 50% against 42% in 2014/2015. The area sown for sugar beetroots is 57,600 ha. ”
Sugar beet production reached 4.2 million tonnes. This 17% increase compared to the previous campaign was accompanied by a significant increase in yields that reached 73T / ha to a wealth of 18.1%. Sugar yield per hectare has meanwhile recorded an average of 12 t / ha with 14 T / ha in Doukkala and 13T / ha in Tadla, a level of productivity comparable to that of large sugar beet producers.
